lost_in_108 prompt #24: changes. Boone reflects on how things will have to change between him and Shannon when they get home - but once they crash, he realises nothing's changed at all.
She just didn’t have a clue. “And then we’ll just go back to what it was.” Did Shannon really think that was going to be possible? Obviously, she did. There she was, going on about first class seats as if that actually mattered, as though last night hadn’t happened, as though things really could stay the same. But things would have to change when they got back. For one thing, Shannon wouldn’t be able to pull that con on him again.
Boone remembers this as he watches Shannon now, lying there sunbathing while everyone else is sorting stuff, trying to get the guys’ attention.
Nothing’s changed after all.
