Any, any, remember me, think of me/picture me, never forget me/you must remember me (Legends of Tomorrow, Nate/Zari)

Zari knows what it was like for Nate to arrive in Zambezi in 1992, confronted with an Amaya who had no memory of the time they spent together, and yet she knows she has to do the same, has to erase the timeline where she joined the Waverider in order to save him.

Yet she also cannot bear to think of a future where he will not remember her, will continue to tour history without remembering that Zari Adrianna Tomaz was such an important part of his own.

Now as Nate takes in the Zari at her father's birthday who is so different from the Zari he knew, who has no idea who Nate Heywood is, he is determined that one day she will remember him.

any, any, lying without lies (Pretty Little Liars, Charlotte)

The man who had called himself her father had visited Charlotte once not long after she was admitted to Radley, started talking about how he had genuinely believed her deceased for all these years.

As Ali had also tried to defend him, Charlotte nodded along, pretending she was taking it on board, knowing all along she was never going to forgive that man. He may have told his stories of believing her dead, of believing she had been trying to drown Ali, without the intention to lie, but they were lies, lies which had kept her apart from the life that could have been hers for so many years, and when she finally got the hell out of Radley, he wasn’t gonna know what hit him.

Any, any, kingmaker, oathbreaker (Game of Thrones, Littlefinger)

Littlefinger laughs to himself as he pretends to go along with Eddard Stark’s plan to install Stannis on the throne of Westeros. His suggestion of installing Renly in the (certain) event of Joffrey proving unsatisfactory was also something he had no intention of carrying out; weak as Renly may be, he still would not allow Littlefinger to achieve his ultimate goal of being the power behind the throne.

With Joffrey still too young to rule, Stannis absent, Renly too weak, who else would be able to pull the strings other than Littlefinger himself?

Historical RPF, Any, Alternate Universe- Daemons (Richard III and the Princes in the Tower)

He knows that people are beginning to talk, to question what happened to his nephews since he claimed the crown, yet Richard knows he would not be believed if he ever told the story of the daemons who had swooped down, carried them off before his eyes.

Many still lived who remembered the days of King Henry, knew what it was to live under the rule of a king who was insane, and if Richard ever spoke the truth, it would be the end of the House of York, a return to Lancastrian rule once more.

On Bosworth Field, he soon learns that it would have in fact made little difference to his eventual fate.

Any, Any, "This was supposed to be fun" (Supernatural, Rowena, alt!Charlie)

Although the intention had been to get the hell out of there, to shut the door on hunting, on her previous world, Charlie hadn’t been sure that she would have a good time.

But Rowena had been persistent, insisted to Charlie that their road trip was supposed to be fun, had taken her to places Charlie had never been to before in her old universe, correctly guessing that she wouldn’t want to see her old haunts as they were in this one.

And much to Charlie’s surprise, she did find herself enjoying the trip.

Any, any, reasons I’m still alive (Roswell New Mexico, Rosa)

She thinks of Jim Valenti, technically as her biological father one of the reasons Rosa Ortecho exists at all, who had tried so hard to help her get clean; that guy is the reason Rosa never ended up with the drug fuelled death everyone thinks she had back in 2008.

She thinks of Noah Bracken, although she doesn’t like to think of him since he was the one who originally killed her in the first place, he had preserved her in that pod thing allowing Max the opportunity to bring her back.

And she thinks of Max Evans, who had sacrificed himself to bring her back, to do that one thing for Liz; she had never approved of him for her sister, but he’s done the one thing she can never repay.

Any, any, you are a vile old woman (Harry Potter, Harry and Umbridge)

There had been so many times –when he, Fred and George got banned from Quidditch, when Hagrid was put on probation – that Harry itched to look Dolores Umbridge in the eye and tell her she was a vile old woman.

As he stood in the witness box when she was brought before the Wizengamot, he couldn’t help but remember his own trial, several years before, when Umbridge had repeatedly called for his conviction, conveniently ignoring the fact that she herself had summoned the Dementors he had to justify using magic against.

Yet he chose in the end to state the facts to the inquiry, leaving his personal feelings towards the woman unsaid; the life sentence in Azkaban which she was expected to receive was enough for him now.

Any, any, "maybe I was brainwashed, but that still doesn't mean I need you to fix me" Riverdale, Kevin/Fangs

There was a time when Kevin Keller thought that a reunion with Fangs was what he wanted.

Now faced with the possibility, Kevin realises he needs time to be single, to work on rebuilding his relationship with his father, to regain the trust of his oldest friend, to come to terms with his unresolved feelings around his relationships with Joaquin and Moose.

Maybe one day he and Fangs could reconcile; but right now Kevin doesn’t need to be in a relationship with him, he needs to focus on himself, to come to terms with his brainwashing by Edgar and Evelyn Evernever, to get back to being Kevin again.

Any, any, “don’t worry, you’re with us now” The A List, Zac

“Don’t worry, you’re with us now,” Amber had said the day Zac had asked her to take away all feelings he still held for Kayleigh, allowing him to accept her relationship with Brendan, to still be best friends with him and not care about it.

Now Mia and Alex have woken them all, and Zac remembers the year of memories Amber erased from them all, remembers his relationship, the way he had felt when Amber had influenced Kayleigh to believe she loved Brendan and not him, he knows that allowing Amber to brainwash him, to be part of her inner circle, was the wrong decision.

Kayleigh’s having a hard time with the fact that he chose to be influenced to forget her rather than to fight for her, the things he and Brendan had said to each other are still fresh in his mind, and Zac wishes he had turned his back on Amber, and chosen to stay with Harry, Alex and Mia, the “us” who would have actually helped him.

Any, any, mirror universe The Flash, Iris

Iris thinks she can kind of understand how Eva had given up hope of ever escaping the mirror universe after six years, but she’s determined not to do the same.

As she watches Barry in their apartment watching TV, she’s sure that something has changed since Eva repaired the broken mirror, that they had weakened it somehow, that there will be a way they can get back home.

Barry can sense her there, she’s sure of it, and it won’t be long before she escapes the mirror world and returns to him.

Harry Potter, any, regrets (Percy Weasley)

Maybe he should have been in Slytherin, Percy wonders, after his desire for power at the Ministry of Magic, his determination to rise within the ranks of the Ministry, had blinded him to what was important.

He knew his family, knew now that they wouldn’t have believed Harry’s tales of Voldemort’s return if they didn’t think they had good reason to, and he knew Harry too, had known him for years as his brother’s best friend, had never had any reason to see him as a liar, an attention seeker, any of the things the Fudge and Umbridge regime had made him out to be.

He still had the opportunities to rise at the Ministry under Kingsley Shacklebolt’s new regime, although he now questioned whether he deserved them, but he would never have the opportunity to get those last three years with Fred back again.

Any, any, the end of the world is overrated (Supergirl, Kara and Lex)

Lex Luthor laughs it off, minimises the time they spent together at the end of everything, before Oliver Queen had saved them all and created Earth-Prime, acts like the end of the world was overrated, asks what did it matter when they had all been saved in the end?

When Lex says that, Kara wants to punch him even more than she usually does; she’s already lived through one end of the world with the destruction of Krypton, and now she’s had to face the end of her world here, and even though everyone she cares about is here on Earth-Prime, it’s still not Earth-38, it’s still the end of the world she knew. What right has that man to talk about the end of the world as though it was nothing?

Any, any, when engineers are bored The Big Bang Theory, Howard Wolowitz

Howard Wolowitz always used to say that he came up with his best ideas for inventions when he was bored.

His friends, however, would beg to differ. From the sex robot (which had prompted Leonard to ask if Howard had never watched Buffy, because the character called Warren had come up with something similar ages ago) to the robotic hand (the less said about that, the better), they had come to the conclusion that when Howard was bored was exactly the wrong time for him to try and invent anything.

For prompts relating to superstition:

Eating one grape for every stroke of midnight on New Year’s will bring you a happy year. (Spain.) (Riverdale - Veronica's family tradition brings no one luck)

“What’s the deal with the grapes?” Archie had asked at Veronica’s New Year’s party. He’d never seen quite so many grapes in one place before.

“Oh, it’s a Spanish tradition,” Hermione Lodge had explained. “Supposedly, if you eat one grape for each stroke of midnight at New Year, it brings you luck. My mother always swore by it.”

“Hermione’s mother swore by a lot of things,” Hiram continued. “But this one always seemed harmless, so we kind of continued the tradition.”

“How about it, Reggie?” Josie asked. “Think some of these will bring you luck on the football field?”

“It’s about talent, not luck,” Reggie smirked, “you’ve either got it or you haven’t. Superstition’s dumb.” However Reggie did help himself to the grapes, followed by Josie who said they might bring her luck in her singing career.

“You don’t need something like that to bring you luck, Josie,” Cheryl chimed in, although she did also accept the grapes when Josie offered them.

“Betty?” Veronica asked, handing her the plate.

“Yeah, I think I will,” Betty said. “I could use a little luck right now.” Archie wondered whether this was in reference to her on-off relationship with Jughead, who had opted not to go, saying he wanted to spend the evening with his father and the Serpents, or whether it related to what she had confided in him about her intention to seek out her long lost brother, but he wasn’t going to ask her in front of everyone. Kevin smiled and accepted the plate from her, and then passed it to Veronica.

“What do you say, Archikins? Think we need a little luck for the coming year?” Veronica grinned as she passed the plate to Archie.

“Sure, why the hell not?” Archie laughed as he helped himself as the clock began to chime, ringing in 2018.

Looking around at his friends now, at Cheryl who had become estranged from her family, at Josie and Kevin who had learned uncomfortable truths about theirs, at Betty who had come to regret tracing her brother, at Veronica who had become ostracised by so many of her former friends after Ethel had outed her knowledge of the plans for the prison to the whole school, Archie was beginning to think Reggie was right, it was dumb, and the grapes had brought none of them any luck at all.

Wear new clothes on Easter for good luck. (Pretty Little Liars, Hanna - Hanna's attempt to impress Sean Ackard in freshman year at the Easter party backfires.)

She knew it was just some stupid superstition about a new dress for Easter.

But it was Sean Ackard, hosting a party for everyone in their grade while his parents were away, and Hanna wondered if maybe this was going to be the day he was finally going to realise he liked her. She’d probably have bought something new anyway, or at the very least wanted to. So she’d dragged Emily to the mall especially to pick out something new, tried on about a hundred dresses before finally fixing on the one she liked.

Why is it that everything looks so much better on the mannequins than on me? Hanna wondered to herself as she put the new dress on on the night of Sean’s party. It hadn’t looked this bad in the store. But now, looking at herself in the mirror at home, she looked…fat. Fat and disgusting and ugly.

Remember the saying, she told herself. New clothes on Easter bring you luck. And with Aria, Emily and Spencer beside her telling her she looked great as she got ready together, Hanna chose not to worry about it.

“Ta-dah!” Alison DiLaurentis, the fifth member of their group walked in, carrying an armful of bags, doing a twirl as she showed off her new dress.

The exact same dress Hanna was wearing. And looking a hundred times better in it.

“Oh, I’m so sorry, Hanna!” Ali exclaimed, in that fake tone of voice which told Hanna she was anything but. “I didn’t realise this was the one you bought, sweetie.”

“But…” Emily began, and Alison gave her a ferocious glare, and in that instant Hanna knew what had happened, that Emily had told Ali what she had chosen and Ali had decided to upstage her by buying the same outfit for herself.

“I’d offer you something of mine to change into,” Alison smiled sweetly, “but I’m not sure I have anything quite the right size.”

“It doesn’t matter,” Hanna snapped, yanking the dress over her head, throwing it to the floor and grabbing an old black one that everyone had seen several times over. “It looks better on you anyway.”

Whoever said new clothes at Easter brought you luck was an ass.
