lost_in_108 prompt #83: rain. Shannon doesn't understand why Boone needs to seek her out for comfort during a storm.
Shannon used to laugh at Boone for the way he’d always come into her room and hide under her covers every time there was a storm when they were kids.
“It’s just rain, idiot,” she’d say. “It’s not going to hurt you. Grow up.”
That was easy for her to say. She wasn’t the one who’d sat beside Theresa’s dead body as the lightning flashed and thunder bellowed around him.
“Aren’t you a little old for that now?” Shannon sneered when he appeared in her tent the day of the first thunderstorm on the island.
But she couldn’t understand; she didn’t know Theresa had appeared to him again.
