lost_in_108 prompt #95: under. Jack helps Boone deal with his nightmares about Joanna's death. Oh, and
janie_tangerine? Consider it a late birthday fic!
He could feel himself going under, but he was determined not to give into it. Joanna was out there, and she needed him. He had to pull himself together, drag his head out of the water, bring Joanna home.
When Jack brought Boone to shore, without Joanna, there was a part of Boone that wished Jack had left him and saved her (the same part of Boone that had wished it had been him who had fallen down the stairs and not Theresa).
He awoke that night from a nightmare that he was still struggling underwater. But with Jack by his side, Boone knew he wasn’t going under.
