lost_in_108 prompt #5, liquor. Ana Lucia realises she can no longer bear the taste of tequila and tonic.
It was her favourite once. But when Jack offered her tequila and tonic, Ana Lucia realised she could no longer bear the taste.
It reminded her of when she’d followed Jason McCormack out of the bar and shot him dead. She’d believed that she was avenging her unborn baby. But as she watched him fall to the ground, she still felt dead inside.
It reminded her of her time with the man she’d called Tom. She’d seen it in the paper after he died, and wondered what she could have done to save him. (Though he’d have called it fate.)
It reminds her of mistakes, tastes of failure.
