lost_in_108 prompt #18: circles. Richard believes they are safe now Esau is trapped by the ring of ash, but Jacob remains worried. (And yes, I did get the title from Planet of the Ood!)
“You’re still worried, aren’t you?” Richard asked, placing his arm around Jacob’s shoulders, kissing him on the lips. “You needn’t be. Esau’s trapped by the circle of ash, and none here will free him. You’ve won.”
“I’m touched by your loyalty, Ricardus,” Jacob replied, “but it must be. There will be a time when the circle must be broken, Esau will become stronger.”
“We all remain loyal to you,” Richard exclaimed. “None here would do that.”
Jacob sighed, kissed Richard again. “It will be one who isn’t here yet who will break the circle. It’s woven into the tapestry; I will be the one to bring him here.”
