Prompt 4: Daisy
These sunny springtime blooms have several positive meanings. The meaning of a daisy flower can be purity, innocence, new beginnings, joy and cheerfulness. In the Victorian Era, daisies symbolized innocence, loyalty and an ability to keep things secret.
(I will come back to 3, that one isn't finished yet)
A Cruel Summer season 2 drabble:
Isabella had thought that going to Chatham for the year on the exchange programme would be a new beginning for her. Somewhere where no one knew her, knew nothing of Lisa’s death and the fact that the diplomatic immunity would never be quite enough for some people to believe she was innocent of any crime there, would be an opportunity for her to make new friends, finish her education, start all over again.
And for a while Isabella had thought that was working; she was getting to know Luke, Parker, Amy, Kellie, Jeff, Freddy, Eric and Tim, and in Megan, she’d found a new ride or die (maybe they weren’t quite as close as Isabella had been to Lisa, but she had known Lisa a lot longer, so that was only to be expected).
But she hadn’t counted on Trevor coming to town, revealing to Megan what had happened to Lisa; she hadn’t counted on Luke’s revealing his true colours, on the sex tape, on Megan declaring they should make Luke wish he’d never met either of them. Now Luke’s dead, Megan’s a person of interest and blaming Isabella, and now that Megan’s heard the official version of Lisa’s death, she thinks Isabella’s guilty. In fact, Isabella is innocent of any crime against Luke, just as she was against Lisa, and she hopes that in time, the people of Chatham will see that too.
