Title: When Goodwin Died

Characters: Juliet, Goodwin, Harper, Ben.
Spoilers: The Other Woman

Pairing: Juliet/Goodwin.
Summary: Written for the drabble prompt "masks" over at
lostsquee. Juliet reflects on the front she put on for the Others in the last few weeks of Goodwin's life and immediately after his death.
Towards the end of Goodwin's life, he talked about leaving Harper to be with me. She knew about us now, and he couldn't see why we couldn't just be together.
I explained about Ben, but it was more than that. Because I knew that if I got the chance to go home to Rachel, I wouldn't think twice about leaving Goodwin behind.
When Goodwin died, I realised I had cared after all. I watched as the likes of Colleen and Danny offered their sympathy to Harper, and I was unable to speak to anyone of how I really felt. I plastered a mask across my face, but I knew that Harper and Ben weren't fooled.
Harper and I both saw the bland look on Ben's face. We were the only ones to know what was hidden behind the mask.
