Sawyer knows he should resist the temptation to go back home while he’s on the mainland, back in 1976; it’s not as if there’s anything he could do to save his family - as Faraday was always saying, whatever happened, happened.
Even as he dials the number, which he still remembers after so many years, part of him feels like he shouldn’t, yet at the same time he knows one phone call won’t change anything, that he just has to hear her voice again for one more time.
Mary Ford picks up the phone, says “Hello?” a few times before hanging up, muttering something about idiots who didn’t say anything when they got the wrong number, and Sawyer holds on to the callbox receiver a long time after she hangs up before whispering “Goodbye, mom.”
any, any, "there's an insect on your head!"
When Ron pulls a beetle out of Hermione’s hair, she immediately knows what’s happened; Rita Skeeter up to her old tricks again, trying to get an exclusive on the spot story about the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts.
For a moment she considers letting her go, thinking that now, the day Voldemort was finally defeated, isn’t the day to pursue her old feud with Rita. Then Hermione thinks about the stories she could write, the half truths and hatchet jobs Rita is capable of, and immediately traps her in the jar with the unbreakable charm, determined she won’t let Rita taint this day for anyone.
any, any, a richly-deserved punch
Leroy knows he shouldn’t have risen to it, knows that the priority should be letting David know what happened to Tom/Sneezy, what will happen to anyone if they cross the town line and try and leave Storybrooke. Yet as he makes his way towards the gathering where David’s attempting to calm the town, he hears that ass Whale asking whether the nuns are still nuns, or whether they can date.
Leroy knows exactly what kind of a man Whale is, knows he’s not going to stand for him talking about Astrid – Nova, he reminds himself – and her friends like that; as he takes a swing and delivers a well-aimed punch to Whale’s face, the women of Storybrooke are silently cheering.
Any, Any, "But demons can't feel love, can they?"
In some ways, life had been easier for Mazikeen back in the days when she believed herself to be incapable of love, invulnerable. As Eve couldn’t or wouldn’t see what was under her nose, a part of Mazikeen wished she still felt that way, that she hadn’t opened her heart and her mind to the possibility of love, and so turning her back on her friends and turning towards Michael proved too tempting.
She and Eve are happy now, and she has Linda, and Chloe and Trixie, and Amenadiel, even Dan became a friend, and Lucifer stuck with her even after she gave him so many reasons to walk away, and Mazikeen now understands that actually, this demon can feel more than one kind of love.
