So slightly later with this one than I'd hoped to be, having been ever so slightly distracted by political developments in my country where half of Boozo the Clown's ministers have quit on him over the last 24 hours, but here is my post for this challenge:

Prompt 2: Rose Quartz
Soft pink in color, Rose Quartz has been a popular stone since as far back as 800-600 BCE. Today, as in the past, it’s most associated with love, compassion, and healing in all its forms both towards oneself and others. In the Greek myths it’s mentioned at least twice: once where Eros is said to have brought it to man to inspire love, and again in the story of Aphrodite and Adonis where it came to represent love triumphant. It’s a stone of beauty and sentiment and will likely be favored for years to come.

This theme of love, compassion and healing towards oneself and others prompted me to write this missing scene from Heartstopper:

Imogen smiles as Nick approaches her awkwardly; she knows what he’s going to say, knows that he wishes he’d been honest with her earlier about the real reason their date never went anywhere. “It’s okay,” she begins. “You don’t have to say anything. I get it.”

“I’m sorry,” he says anyway, “for agreeing to the date without being honest with you at the time.”

Imogen smiles, says that she ought really to apologise herself. “I think I knew somewhere, deep down, not about Charlie, but that you didn’t see me in that way. So I owe you an apology too, for pushing it.”

“I think Harry was pushing the issue there, that didn’t help,” Nick pointed out.

Yes, that was true; he had stirred it up, and Imogen wasn’t sure how things would have gone down if he had just kept out of it. She’s starting to understand that she’s worried too much about the approval of him, Ben and some of their other idiot friends; Nick’s left that group now and is spending more time with Charlie’s friends, and Imogen’s thinking he had the right idea and she might be wise to distance herself from that group as well.

She doesn’t really know Charlie Spring, but she knows Tara, Darcy and Elle are all good friends with him, and if she gets the chance, she would like to try and get to know him better. But at the end of the day, her opinion isn’t what’s important, it’s how Nick feels about him that matters, and when Imogen had seen the way Nick had looked at Charlie on Higgs and Truham’s sports day, she understood that Nick would never look at her like that, but she’s okay with it. He’s happy, and they’re still friends, and that’s what matters.
